Where is Rovinia Beach?
Rovinia Beach is a small, secluded beach in the Liapades area of western Corfu, just south of Liapades Beach and the rocky shores of Paleokastritsa. Its shoreline is a mix of pebbles and soft sand, with a famous cave at the southern end offering shade and a perfect spot for photos.
This hidden gem is considered one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in western Corfu, offering turquoise waters, impressive rock formations, and a peaceful atmosphere for visitors seeking tranquility or adventure.
Map of Rovinia and Nearby Beaches
Rovinia Beach is nestled along Corfu’s steep western coastline, where mountains descend sharply into the sea. Unlike many hidden beaches accessible only by boat, Rovinia can be reached by sea or via a short land path of about 600 meters with steps.
Its seclusion ensures it remains uncrowded, making it ideal for those who want to enjoy nature, swim in clear waters, and explore the small cave at the southern end. The beach is also suitable for diving into the surrounding rocks, though care is advised for children.
A small canteen boat occasionally visits the cave area, offering refreshments and ice cream at reasonable prices.
How to Visit Rovinia Beach
The easiest way to reach Rovinia Beach is by sea taxi from Gefyra Beach in Paleokastritsa. Boats run regularly and take just a few minutes.
For those who prefer to reach the beach by land, follow these directions carefully:
- Drive toward Liapades Beach and locate the Athena supermarket.
- Take the small road on its left and continue approximately 40 yards to a crossroads.
- Turn right at the crossroads; a sign for Rovinia should be visible.
- After about 300 meters, park in the small designated area and follow the steps down to the beach.
While accessible on foot, the path is narrow and requires caution. For first-time visitors, a local guide is recommended to ensure a safe trip.
A Beach Worth Visiting
Rovinia Beach is compact but exceptionally scenic, with crystal-clear waters, petal-shaped shores, and towering rocks framing the coastline. The southern cave is a highlight for photography and relaxation.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet day swimming, a romantic escape, or simply to enjoy the natural beauty of Corfu, Rovinia Beach delivers a memorable experience.
