This is Aggelokastro or else Angel’s castle, named by its creator at 1214, the Despot of Epirus Duke Michael-Angelos Komnenos the second.

It is next to Paleokastritsa on a really majestic high rock overlooking the whole northwest part of the island.

Remnants of the churches of the Holy Archangels and Agia Kiriaki can be seen from above.
The church of the Archangels was built in 1784 on the site of an older church.
Agia Kiriaki was built inside a small cave and has many 18th century’s paintings.

Aggelokastro saw many sieges but never fell.
In 1537 only 8 soldiers of his guard repelled the attack of the Turks of Barbarossa.
The Turks tried again in 1571 and again failed.

The drone of Christos Servos flies inside Gouvia Bay, above the marina and between the ruins of the Venetian Arsenal shipyards.

The bay of Gouvia is on the east coast of the island, about 12 kilometers north of Corfu town.

Because what Corfu needs is just to show It’s beauties, the very expensive advertising productions are rather unnecessary.

The huge and endless beach of Halikounas is always enchanting at all times and all year round, breathtaking as the entire Corfu.

We fly over the huge beach of Issos.

Between Halikounas at the north, Lake Korission at the back and St George beach in the south, Issos competes with neighboring Chalikouna in beauty and size.

The forest of cedars, 3Km in length divides them, that forest gives additional interest and contributes to the formation of the special ecosystem of the region.
